Service corp

SciCore Academy thrives on student initiative, and the student-run Magazine Club is a testament to that spirit. Led by President Liz Xu, who also serves as Editor-in-Chief, with Chase Scherer as Assistant Editor and Jessica Samuel as Photographer, the magazine showcases student voices and creativity. Alongside the magazine, the Yearbook team—featuring Maxwell Carroll, Akshita Kotturu, and Lakshanya Shanmugam—captures lasting memories of the academic year. Our student-led tutoring program includes dedicated mentors like Lachlan Carroll, Marcus Costello, Sahasra Chukkapalli, and Ben Chen, providing academic support across subjects. In the STEM sphere, Pranav Prabaharaprabu contributes to research and science-related initiatives, driving innovation and curiosity among students. Amy Vo, Mahesh Babu, and Liz Xu also markets for the school openhouse and makes fliers.

Turtoring

Jessica Samuel and Sahasra Chukkapalli volunteer with Service Corp to teach reading to Pre-K through elementary school students. Through personalized lesson plans, engaging storytime sessions, and phonics-based instruction, they help young learners build foundational literacy skills. Their work not only fosters a love for reading but also supports educational equity by providing consistent, compassionate tutoring to students who need extra support outside the classroom.

Stem Club

At school, Marcus Costello, Pranav Prabaharupaba, and Ben Chen provide technical and general support across various areas. They fix broken equipment and tools around the building, ensuring classrooms and labs stay functional. They assist teachers by helping manage classes, and they occasionally substitute for them when needed. They also support students by teaching them how to operate CNC machines and use Fusion 360 for design work. This service not only strengthens the school community but also deepens my leadership and problem-solving skills.
